Abu Dhabi & Grand Mosque

An Abu Dhabi day trip from Dubai covers roughly 320 km door to door, and almost all of it is motorway driving on the E11. Booking it as a private chauffeured tour rather than a self-drive or a shared coach means you keep the car for the full ten hours: it waits at the Grand Mosque while you walk the courtyards, it is at the Louvre entrance when you come out, and there is no queueing for a taxi on the Corniche in 40°C heat.

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is the anchor of the day. It opens to visitors daily except Friday mornings, and the calmest window is between 09:00 and 11:00 — which is why our chauffeurs leave Dubai around 08:00. Modest dress is required for all visitors; we carry abayas and shawls in the car so nobody loses time at the visitor centre. From there the drive to Emirates Palace takes about 20 minutes, and the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island is another 15 minutes across the bridge.

Abu Dhabi's road network is heavily camera-enforced and parking around Saadiyat and the Corniche is paid and zoned. Our fares include fuel, Salik and Darb tolls, all parking and the chauffeur's hours, so the price you are quoted is the price you pay. Entrance tickets to the Louvre and Qasr Al Watan and any Emirates Palace dining are billed at cost, because they change with season and we would rather not pad them.

The itinerary is a starting point, not a fixed rail. Guests regularly swap the Louvre for Qasr Al Watan, add Yas Island or Ferrari World for families, or finish at the Observation Deck at 300 in Etihad Towers for sunset. Tell your chauffeur in the morning and the route is re-sequenced around traffic on the way back into Dubai.
