The BMW 7 Series is the sport-luxe alternative to the S-Class, and the choice usually comes down to taste. The 7 sits firmer, steers with more feedback and puts a technology-forward cabin — rear touchscreen control, ambient interaction bar, executive lounge seating — in front of the passenger. On Dubai's motorway network it is composed at legal speeds and noticeably quiet at 120 km/h.

It works well for executives who drive one themselves at home, for roadshow days where the car is in constant motion between DIFC, Business Bay and Downtown, and for arrivals where a client has requested something other than the ubiquitous Mercedes. Capacity is three passengers and three bags.

Fares start at AED 200 for a fixed transfer and AED 260 per hour. As with every vehicle in the fleet, the quote includes fuel, Salik and Darb tolls, parking and the chauffeur's hours, and there is no surge multiplier at night or during major Dubai events.

Against the S-Class the differences are worth knowing before you choose: the BMW's rear cabin is slightly more upright and tech-led, where the Mercedes prioritises recline and isolation; luggage capacity is the same three checked bags either way; and on the DXB to Abu Dhabi motorway leg the 7 Series holds a marginally firmer line over expansion joints, which some passengers read as sportiness and others as the reason to book the S-Class instead.
