Terminal 2 is the flydubai and regional low-cost terminal, smaller and faster through customs but with a longer walk to ground transport. Terminal 3 is the Emirates home — the largest terminal at DXB — where Concourse A arrivals feed into a hall that can take twenty minutes just to cross. Whichever terminal you land at, the process is identical for you: clear immigration, collect bags, walk through customs, and find your name on a sign inside the arrivals hall. The car waits in the chauffeur parking, not at the kerb, so there is no rush and no exposure to the heat while you wait for a cab to appear.

Al Maktoum International (DWC) in Dubai South handles a growing share of wide-body cargo and charter arrivals, plus seasonal passenger operations. Pickup there works the same way, with the meet-and-greet point at the main arrivals exit.

Nationals of more than 60 countries — including the UK, EU member states, the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand and GCC residents of most nationalities — receive a visa on arrival in Dubai, typically 30 or 90 days depending on passport. The smart gates are open to many of these passports even on a first visit, but first-time arrivals are often directed to staffed desks for biometric enrolment. Budget an extra fifteen minutes on your first entry; your 60 minutes of complimentary chauffeur wait covers it comfortably.

UAE residence visa holders returning home can use the smart gates at Terminals 1 and 3 with a registered Emirates ID, clearing immigration in under two minutes at quiet hours. If you arrive on a new passport or a renewed residence visa that has not been re-registered, you will be routed to a desk — tell us at booking if you are travelling on fresh documents and we will pad the pickup window accordingly.

If your passport requires a pre-arranged UAE visa, make sure the approval copy is accessible offline before you fly; immigration accepts printed or on-screen copies, but airport Wi-Fi logins occasionally stall at peak hours. Dubai runs on a right-hand-drive-left-lane road system with signposted routes in English and Arabic, and the airport sits on the Garhoud side of the city — 20 to 25 minutes from Downtown and DIFC off-peak, 30 to 35 minutes from Dubai Marina, JBR and Palm Jumeirah. Between 5 PM and 7:30 PM the Sheikh Zayed Road corridor slows significantly, and Friday prayer windows (roughly 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM) briefly reshape traffic around major mosques. Currency is the UAE dirham, pegged at AED 3.6725 to the US dollar, so international pricing is effectively stable for American and dollar-linked travellers. Card payment is near-universal and our fares are settled online at booking in your home currency — there is no need to stop at a forex counter in arrivals before you can pay for ground transport. Salik road tolls, airport parking and the first hour of waiting are already inside your fixed fare.

For travelers connecting onward the same evening, we run direct inter-emirate transfers from arrivals. DXB to Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain or Fujairah is fixed at AED 475 by Lexus in either direction, so you skip the airport hotel and wake up where you need to be.

Emirates recommends three hours before long-haul departures from Terminal 3, and the airport enforces it at check-in during peak banks — the 9 AM to 11 AM and 8 PM to 2 AM windows are the heaviest. We work backwards from your flight: a 10 PM departure from Downtown means a 7:15 PM pickup in normal traffic, 6:45 PM on a Thursday. For Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 departures, two and a half hours is usually sufficient, and for DWC we add fifteen minutes over the equivalent DXB timing because of the longer access road from the city.

Departure transfers include 15 minutes of complimentary kerbside wait at your hotel or residence, a WhatsApp with the chauffeur's photo and plate the evening before, and drop-off at the correct departures level for your terminal and airline — T3 First and Business drop-off, the T1 forecourt, or the T2 drop zone.
