Journey time — Abu Dhabi to Dubai
Off-peak, expect 80–95 minutes door to door from Abu Dhabi Corniche to Downtown Dubai. Friday afternoons (13:00–17:00) and Sunday mornings (06:30–09:30) regularly push that to 2 hours. When a taxi is the right answer

What about the intercity bus?
The E100 and E101 RTA buses run between Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station and Dubai's Al Ghubaiba and Ibn Battuta stations for AED 25, every 20–30 minutes, taking around two hours plus terminal time at each end. For a student or solo backpacker it is unbeatable value. For anyone with a meeting at 10:00, a hotel check-in, luggage or company, the two-to-three-hour door-to-door reality removes the saving.
