Dubai to Muscat is the cleanest cross-border drive in the GCC — a single highway from the city out through Hatta, ten minutes of paperwork at Al Wajajah, then a long, quiet road into the Omani capital. With your own chauffeur you get a fixed one-way fare from AED 2,400, full GCC insurance, the road permit for a UAE-registered car in Oman, and a driver who has done the crossing dozens of times — so the only thing you handle is your passport.

Most clients book this as a one-way: leave a Dubai hotel at 07:00, be at the border by 09:00, drink coffee while the chauffeur stages the paperwork, and be in Muscat for a late lunch or an afternoon meeting. Round trips work too — same-day return is twelve hours of driving but doable; an overnight in Muscat with the chauffeur waiting (AED 600 per night) is the comfortable choice.

The vehicle choice mirrors the rest of the fleet: the Mercedes E-Class for solo and couple transfers (AED 2,400), the S-Class when the meeting in Muscat warrants the front-page car (AED 2,800), and the V-Class for groups of up to seven with full luggage (AED 3,400). All fares are fixed at booking — fuel for ~900 km round trip, Salik on the UAE side, the Oman road permit and the chauffeur for the full day are inside the number.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Dubai to Muscat private transfer?

Fixed one-way fare from AED 2,400 in a Mercedes E-Class, AED 2,800 in an S-Class, and AED 3,400 in a V-Class for groups of up to 7. Round-trip from AED 4,400 (E-Class). The fare includes fuel, Salik, UAE departure tax, Oman border road permit and the chauffeur for the full day — passport visa fees are on you.

How long does the drive take?

Door-to-door Dubai → Muscat is 4h45m to 5h30m of driving plus 30–60 minutes at the Hatta / Al Wajajah border crossing, depending on the time of day. Plan on 6–7 hours total. Most clients leave Dubai around 07:00 to be in Muscat for lunch, or 14:00 for an evening check-in.

Which border crossing do you use?

Hatta — Al Wajajah is the standard crossing for Dubai → Muscat. It is the smoothest of the UAE–Oman borders, paved both sides, and the chauffeur knows the lane order: UAE exit stamp, short drive through no-man's-land, Oman entry with visa-on-arrival, then a single road (Route 7 / 1) into Muscat.

Do I need an Oman visa?

Most GCC residents and a number of nationalities get an Oman e-visa or visa-on-arrival at Al Wajajah for around OMR 5 (~AED 50). The chauffeur waits while you process it. UAE residents on a Dubai visa do not transit visa-free — you still need the Oman entry. We brief you before the trip; check your passport requirement at evisa.rop.gov.om before booking.

Is the car insured for Oman?

Yes. Every cross-border vehicle has GCC-extended insurance covering Oman (a normal UAE-only policy is not valid the moment you leave the border). The road permit for taking a UAE-registered car into Oman is also arranged by us as part of the fare — there is nothing for you to file at the gate.

Can you do Muscat → Dubai the same day?

Yes, but it is a long day — 12+ hours of driving plus border. Most clients prefer a two-day round trip with an overnight in Muscat, or book the Dubai → Muscat leg one-way and fly back from Muscat International (MCT). Quotes for both shapes are fixed at booking.

Can you drop us at a Muscat hotel or only at the airport?

Door-to-door to any Muscat address — The Chedi, Shangri-La Al Husn, W Muscat, Kempinski Al Mouj, Crowne Plaza OCEC, private villas in Qurum or Madinat Al Sultan Qaboos, or Muscat International (MCT) for an onward flight. The chauffeur uses the local address or what3words, not just the hotel name, so there is no wandering on arrival.

Do you offer a Dubai to Salalah or Nizwa transfer too?

Nizwa yes — about 5 hours from Dubai via Hatta, quoted from AED 2,600 one-way in an E-Class, popular as a stop on the way to Muscat. Salalah is 14+ hours of driving and not practical by road in one go; for Salalah we recommend a Dubai → Muscat chauffeur transfer plus a domestic Oman Air flight, which we can book as a package.

What happens if the border crossing is closed or delayed?

Al Wajajah is open 24/7 for passenger vehicles and rarely closes — but in the case of a long queue (Eid, Oman National Day, late Thursday evenings) the chauffeur holds station with you in the air-conditioned cabin and the meter does not run, the fare is fixed. If the border were closed outright (extremely rare), we re-route via Khatmat Milahah and the fare is honoured — no surcharge for our delay.
